Can I check in late?
Almost certainly! Please communicate with staff as we do not own the venue and so we can make sure there is staff available to help you. Show up and one of the Staff will direct you to where to set up and get you checked in.
Is check in In character?
The simple answer is “No.” Check in is at the Game Operations Desk, which is in and of itself, out of the Game. But also, there is a need for clarity between players and staff. After you are checked in, you are expected to be in character while in game areas as much as is safe and feasible.
What’s for dinner?
The tavern will be serving some food. For current menu see: Menu
Or you can bring your own! Cook on the campefire and roast S’mores!
How do I create a character?
It all begins with an idea. Then you can copy the character sheet located: Character Creation or write out your stats on whatever you have handy. Character Creation will help you through the steps.
Then Contact: discardedworldlarp@gmail.com for approval. It is best if you have your character ready before you get out to site, for everyone! If you have questions, Contact: discardedworldlarp@gmail.com
So when do I make my character?
PLEASE before hand! Storytellers and the Game Master weave your character’s story with everyone else’s and that is much easier to do with prep time! Also, creating your character during Check In slows everything down. For the best experience for everyone, please get your character approved before Sign in! Trust us, it WILL be worth it.
But if you don’t make your character before hand, we will still help you at Sign in!

What kind of weapons can I use?
Boffer weapons and Nerf blasters. Foam padded swords, coreless throwing objects, carefully crafted foam tipped arrows, foam covered shields. Foam, foam, FOAM, FOAM!
For further questions, See: Larp Weapons Guidelines or
Contact: discardedworldlarp@gmail.com
The weapons are foam, so I can hit as hard as I like, right?
No. The maximum strength of your hits should be hard enough to land, but not sting. A strength we refer to as a “half swing". Trust us, from decades of experience, you CAN hurt each other with foam weapons.
Is it going to be all fighting?
Absolutely not! The town is a non-combat zone. Many of the NPCs are strictly non combat. There are plenty of non combat quests and storylines! Not everything will dissolve into violence. If you’d like to play a completely non combat character, let the Storyteller or Game Master know during your character creation and we will make sure to steer you away from the combat choices.
IMPORTANT: Medical Sash
A Red and White striped sash, arm band or head band is worn by someone who has a medical reason to be completely non-combatant. Do not, under any circumstances engage them in combat. These sashes are usually for temporary reasons. However, they can also be used in conjunction with Incorporeal to alert other players of their medical danger.
Why would I do this?
For exercise! There is plenty of running and cardio!
For crafting! Make a costume for your character and show it off! Make props and weapons! There will be prizes for good costumes!
For socializing! There will be other people there. Likely with many similar interests!
For learning! Learn how to de-escalate conflicts, become better at talking in groups, explore complex emotions and moral dilemmas in a safe environment.
For the great outdoors! Camping with plenty of planed activities!
For FUN!
Can I drink out there?
Drink plenty of water! Stay hydrated! If your pee is yellow, drink more water!
What time do Quests start?
Quests are scheduled on a board at the Game Operations Desk where everyone signs in. In general, they will start after breakfast Saturday and Sunday, with an hour break for lunch and dinner.
What about fighting after dark?
Once the final quest is over and “Aftermath” officially begins, the Storytellers and Game Master are off duty. There will be no NPC attacks, no monsters and it is recommended no fighting. Sometimes, storytellers may being out more NPCs for more play, or to run through things that the whole group does not need to be involved in. For safety and for those who want to sleep, please do not engage in combat in the dark. Also it cannot count officially without a storyteller. Role play is highly encouraged though!
The exception to this is if we have a night event. Details will be announced closer to time.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Someone told them it was an egg-cellent idea.
