Tekom is a Small town in the middle of nowhere it is quiet and peaceful. But it is isolated from the rest of the Discarded World by unusually hungry monsters who consume all who wonder outside of the protection of the Name Stone at the town’s center. Tekom was originally founded as a mining town, by the Marblespine Trogs. Ghosts of the town’s history loom large over the small population. It looks as though Tekom’s days may be numbered, but perhaps, there is hope yet.
Tekom is located in territory that is contested between Ferro, Unda and Ignis and near a Battleground. As the borders between the Regions has shifted, Tekom ends up forgotten and neglected by the shifting government landscape, resulting in interrupted trade and less protection. This border shifting has also made Tekom even more diverse than the average town.
Tekom
The Tavern is the heart of town. It is traditional that most or all of the town to eat meals at the Tavern or just congregate to socialize. Tekom’s Namestone is located in the Tavern, which promotes a feeling of security and community in the Tavern, in addition to the food and hearth. The Tavern is run by Telma Rumbleroot, the Defender Guardian.
The Rattan Caravan that carries travelers and trade through the wilds from town to town in a scheduled route. It arrives in Tekom about once a month. It is the life blood of the town. Without it, many supplies are impossible to acquire. But most importantly, it brings in new beings, without which the town would quickly become a ghost town with the number of casualties.
The Wall around Tekom protects it from monsters, bandits and raiding parties. The Name Stone only protects against Innominatam and not in a very large area. As with almost all towns in Discarded world the answer was a physical wall supported by a Ward Enchantment of Sanctuary. This large wall keeps the inhabitants nominally safe and secure.
