Blaster Guidelines
In The Discarded Worlds Firearms exist as like everything else they can be in this world as well.
Ammo Types
There are many types of firearms but for our Larp there will be three main ammo types
-Half Length Darts - These are and half the length of standard Nerf Elite Darts and meant for Pistol, Revolve and Sub-Machine Gun type Firearms
-Full Length Darts - These are standard sized nerf darts that are meant for Rifles of all types from bolt action sniper rifles to Semi automatic rifles.
-Mega Darts - These are oversize Darts that can be used in any firearm that will take them from handguns to Long Range Rifles. (Note: Long Range Shots will be RPed as no Foam Dart can travel more than 100 to 200 feet depending.)
NOT ALLOWED
-Rival Round –These are foam balls shot by most any type of blaster that will accept them
-Any type of BB, Airsoft, metal or hard plastic projectile.
Rate of Fire
-The Discarded World will only be allowing Spring Powered and Semi Automatic Flywheel Blasters. Fully Automatic Blasters while safe are too hard to count shots and how much damage is being done, for this reason it will not be allowed except in special situations. (These situations are to be determined by the Game Master and Storytellers.)
Blaster Modding Rule
Blasters are allowed to be modded, and 3D Printed Blasters will be allowed within reason. That being said, all modified blasters must follow these Rules.
Rule 1: All Modified Blasters must shoot less than 100 fps (Feet Per Second) (This may change to 150 once proper testing can be done with Game Masters Approval.)
Rule 2: Cosmetics changes to Blasters are encouraged but we will be playing in public spaces so ALL Blaster Barrel Tips Must Be Orange, there is not exception to this rule.
Rule 3: 3D Printer Blasters are welcomed however if they use the Flywheel the World Cage we will not allow the flywheels themselves to be used. (Reasoning Below)
A: The Flywheels are so close they can tear up the darts being pushed through them and this can be costly
B: With the Motors and Flywheels the FPS is generally too high.
C: Redesigned Mini Flywheels can be purchased to replace them.
Firearm Types
Handguns
-Handguns are characterized as Small Form Firearms that can be wielded with one hand. The Barrels are generally between 3 to 7 Inches in Length (Roleplay Purposes Only)
-It doesn’t matter where the rounds are fed from or what round is being fired. Some handguns can fire Half Length Dars while others can fire Full Lenght or even Mega Darts.
-Rate of Fire will determine the Firearms Rating, so Springers will do more damage than Flywheel Blasters but only because Flywheels Blasters shoot faster.
Handgun Types
Semi-Automatic Pistol
-This is a Flywheel operated Magazine Fed Handgun. The Magazine can go through the grip or in front of the trigger. It can shoot Half, or Full Length Darts, (Some but not many may be able to shoot Mega Darts.)
Semi-Automatic Revolver
-This is a Flywheel Operated cylinder fed handgun that can fire half or full length darts. (Some may be able to shoot Mega Darts.)
Springer Pistol
-The is a manually operated Spring and Plunger Firearm. It can have a magazine
or be single/multi-round blasters. But it has to be primed after every shot.
Springer Revolver
-This is operated like Springer Pistols but uses cylinders to hold ammo. They can be hall, full, or Mega Dart Fed Blasters.
Rifles
-Rifles are characterized as a long form Firearm with barrels starting at 10 inches. (Roleplay Purposes Only.)
-It doesn’t matter what ammo type the rifle is using since they may fire them all.
-Rifles can be flywheel or spring operated but there is a limit to their range so any rifle classified as a sniper rifle will have to r their shots with a storyteller or mob controller
Rifle Types
Semi Automatic Rifle
-These are Flywheel and dart pusher operated rifles, as such they have a higher rate a fire then Springer Blasters generally Magazine fed, they could also be revolver style rifles as well. They can fire all types of Ammo.
Springer Rifle
-This is a rifle that is manually Primed that is Operated by Springer and Plunger system, they can be magazine fed, revolver style, or simply single shot. They can use all types of ammo.
Submachine Gun
-These firearms are generally characterized as flywheel blasters with a barrel between 5 to 10 inches (Roleplay purposes Only)
- They can fire half length darts but cannot fire full or mega darts.
Shotgun
-Characterized as short/long barreled Springer Firearms they can shoot a multitude of ammo types from the same firearm. These firearms can shoot multiple rounds at once or one large round.
Explosives
-Characterized as anything that makes a boom, from hand grenades to high explosive like C-4 Plastic Explosive. All explosives cause some kind of AOE (Area of Effect) Whether it be a shaped charge to open a wall or a Grenade hitting within a 10 foot radius.
Rockets
-Rockets are much harder to do in games because have some kind of propulsion system that allows them to fly. So anything having to do with Rockets will have to be roleplayed.
-Prop launchers are encouraged but the props actually launching anything is prohibited.
