An item made of Metal, preferably Steel. Daggers and Sword are Traditional. Coins, metal rings, even jewelry are common.
Incantation
Mend
Incantation: “Reparatione”
Range: Touch
Level Effect: Level of weapon that can be mended
Description: This spell mends a damaged weapon or shield made of metal by the level of this spell.
Fortify
Incantation: “Munire”
Range: Touch
Level Effect: Level of Strength increased in target
Description: This spell causes the target to increase their strength rating by the level of this spell until the combat or scene is over.
Pen Sword
Incantation: “Ferro ferri”
Range: Touch
Level Effect: Create a sword around a handle you are holding, the sword deals two per rank+Ardor pool damage
Description: Steel forms around whatever handle you are holding, turning the object into a sword for the duration of the encounter
Potions
Lock/Unlock
Ingredients: 1 metal key, 1 crystal
Level Effect: level of the Mystic Lock or unlock
Description: This spell can be used to lock or unlock any object that can close. It may be used on a lock that is part of something else. The magical seal is rated for level equal to this spell and can brake locks or magical locks equal to this potion’s rating.
Unyielding Endurance
Ingredients: 1 metal ring, 1 fern fond,
Level Effect: Hours of Endurance
Description: This spell produces a potion that grants the drinker a number of hours, equal to the level of this potion that they can live without taking any damage from lack of biological necessities such as food, water or sleep. This would allow the drinker to stay awake for hours past exhaustion, endure without water through a desert or food in a scarcity. The drinker of this potion may eat, drink or sleep as normal while under its effects, but does not feel the need to, nor any ill effects for not. When the potion wears off, the need for food, water and sleep returns, but the drinker has taken no damage from their lack, no matter how long the potion was in effect. Multiple doses of the potion do not “stack” their time, but a drinker may take a second dose before the effects of the first dose wears off to continue the effects without suffering the need or food, water or sleep.
Ritual
The Ritual of Transmutation
Incantation: “Cum hoc ego mutare substantiam”
Ingredients: Component to be changed, 1 Metal Ring
Circle: 10’
Level Effect: Amount of levels that a component can be changed/ duration 1 day
Description: This Ritual changes one component into a different type of component or a higher level one. It may turn an herb into a stone, or an ingot of lead into gold. This ritual may change any substance by ranks equal to levels in this spell. So, lead to gold would be 25 ranks and herb to stone would be 7. The duration is one day unless levels are spent to increase the duration. Can be combined with Permanent Enchanted Object Ritual.
Animate
Incantation: “Imitantur vitam”
Ingredients: 2 metal wheels, cogs or gears, 1 heart
Range: Touch
Level Effect: See below
Description: This Ritual causes an inanimate object to move in a way that the caster instructs. The Animate object will follow one command per level of this ritual for 1 day before it returns to its original state or it will follow 1 command for days equal to levels of this ritual. This can be enhanced with Enchant item or Permanent Enchanted Item.
Antagonize
Incantation: “Inimicus tuus sum”
Ingredients: Red strip of cloth, vial of venom, iron nail
Range: Sight
Level Effect: 10 count spell is in effect
Description: This is a rare ritual in which it is not complete and activated until the red strip of cloth is actually tied onto a target, thereby allowing the caster to start a ritual before combat and then complete it when needed. This spell incites all hostiles to attack only the target which is wearing the red strip of cloth. The caster counts the duration that the spell is in effect out loud. All hostiles will ignore all other combatants until the caster is killed or the spell wears off, even if attacked by others. The caster may choose to tie the red cloth onto themselves, the “tank” of their group, or even an inanimate object, although an object must be roughly the size of the caster to be effective.
Long Enchantment
Incantation: “Hoc item potest magia”
Ingredients: Chalk, Chain, Metal ring, 5 Silver Coins
Range: Touch
Level Effect: Months that enchantment will last
Description: This Ritual binds a spell to an object for a time. At least one of the Casters of this ritual must know the spell that is being bound into the item. They invoke the Long Enchantment incantation and then cast the spell onto the Object that they wish to bind together. They may place a condition that will trigger the spell to be active, or an activation phrase. All spells used in the enchantment must be of the same school. Enchantment will last months as equal to Ranks in Long Enchantment Spell + Ardor Spent and the spell effect will be equal to the ranks in that spell. Area effect spells can be bound to a room, perimeter markers, or similar, those are called a Ward.
Steel Scales
Incantation:“Defende me virtute ferri”
Ingredients: Metal Ring, Two Nails, Two Crystals
Range:Touch
Level Effect: Grant a shield rating of 3 per rank
Description: Steel scales form around the target, Encasing them in a protective layer similar to dragon scales.
